How We Test the Durability of Our Hydraulic Struts
May 08,2026
When you choose a hydraulic strut for a heavy machine cover or a high-end kitchen cabinet, you aren't just buying a piece of metal—you are buying reliability. But how do we ensure that a gas spring won't fail after a few months of use?
Today, we are taking you inside our Quality Control (QC) Lab to show you the rigorous testing process every batch of our struts undergoes before reaching your warehouse.

1. The Cycle Life Test: 80,000 Times and Counting
The most important metric for any hydraulic strut is its lifespan. In our lab, we use automated fatigue testing machines.
• The Process: We mount the struts and simulate the opening and closing of a door continuously, 24/7.
• Our standards: Although many standard pillars weaken at 50000 cycles, our advanced series has been tested to withstand over 80000 cycles.
Why it matters: This ensures that even with daily use, your customers will enjoy smooth operation for years.

2. Salt Spray Testing: Anti-Corrosion Shield
For struts used in automotive or outdoor environments, rust is the enemy.
• The Test: We place our piston rods and cylinders in a high-concentration salt fog chamber for 72 to 144 hours.
• The Result: We only use high-precision QPQ or chrome-plated rods that show zero corrosion after the test. This is why our struts perform perfectly even in humid or coastal areas.
3. Temperature Extremes (Hot & Cold)
Gas springs rely on nitrogen gas and internal oil. Temperature changes can affect pressure.
• Testing Range: We test our struts in environmental chambers ranging from -30°C to +80°C.
• The Goal: To ensure the seals remain flexible and the damping effect stays consistent, whether it's a freezing winter in Canada or a hot summer in Dubai.
4. Burst and Tensile Strength Test
Safety is non-negotiable. We apply extreme pulling force to the end fittings and internal pressure tests to the cylinder to ensure the strut will never "explode" or snap under accidental high-load conditions.
Conclusion: Quality is the Best Salesman
At Lijin factory, we believe that "Made in China" should stand for "Precision and Durability." By investing in these "behind the scenes" tests, we save our clients from the headaches of after-sales complaints and returns.
